In 2004, Thomas J. Espinosa began his mission to save the art of boxing from impractical movement and poor conditioning. On September 23rd, 2004 in Mountain View, CA the Contender's Gym LLC was born. His wife Geby was so sure of success for the gym, she encouraged him to quit his "day job" and focus only on the gym. "Nobody knows boxing like my husband. He can teach anyone." said Geby Espinosa of her husbands' abilities. She was right.

The Contender's Gym LLC has been operating from September 2004 to this day. The only thing that has changed in the 12 year history is the location, moving to Santa Clara, CA in 2012.
